History

The local branch of MIND was formed in 1984 when a number of concerned professionals from Health and Social Services and the voluntary sector met with the users of services to examine what was needed in Plymouth from a community mental health point of view.

In June 1985 MIND opened a drop-in facility at Sherwell Church on Sundays and in November of that year the first worker was employed.
