Voluntary agencies and community groups
We can provide cost effective Mental Health awareness training for a wide range of groups.Our most popular course is ‘Working with Clients with Mental Health Conditions’. This is an introductory course that covers all of the basic issues that would help advisors or front line workers develop the confidence to work effectively with service users or customers who are mentally ill. This course is normally a one day course. It can be delivered in a half day format if required.
Another popular course for people who have some knowledge of mental health issues is ‘Exploring Mental Health Issues’. This course examines some of the main mental health conditions in greater depth and includes case studies. This is a one day course.

Delivery and cost
Both courses are delivered every year as part of a publicly advertised training programme delivered by Plymouth Citizens Advice Bureau training unit. Please visit their website, www.plymouthcab.org.uk for further information on dates, cost and booking.

Mental health training for the commercial sector
Mental ill health costs business and commerce around £9 billion each year. The Guardian (12th November 2008) reported that 4.8% of customer service staff had taken at least a day off in the previous week. The national average is 2.5%.
